UTMR 2021: updated requirements for the obligatory equipment
Due to covid regulations and the re-route of the races we have updated the requirements for the obligatory equipment. Your equipment will be checked in Grächen at registration, and there may be spot checks at any point during the race. https://www.ultratourmonterosa.com/useful-information/obligatory-equipment/
Please note the following changes:
- Microspikes are no longer required for the Stage Race and 170 km race as there is no glacier crossing.
- Face masks are required to be carried for all races and their use will be mandatory in certain zones.
- Bowl and spork are required for all races (no plates, bowls or eating utensils will be available at checkpoints).
- Any runner (100 km and 170 km distances) who wishes to use the sleeping facilities must carry a sheet sleeping bag. This can be placed in a dropbag for collection at a later point in the race, but it will be checked before you are allowed access to any sleeping area, so plan ahead!
If you need a bivy bag we must receive your order by Wednesday 18th August. You can order using this form: https://registration.utmr.ch/order-a-bivvy-bag/
We will send the “roadbook” for each race by email by Tuesday 10th August with the race programme and information about the checkpoints, plus anything else we think you need to know!
See you in September!
Best wishes, Lizzy and Richard
